OBJECTIVE

On the top left, you can see two bars. One shows the energy supply, and that gradually goes down as more people populate the planet. With your money, build new energy production facilities. Choose between renewable or non-renewable sources. The other bar shows the environmental status of the planet, and that will go down depending on your choices. Each decision has its benefits, but are you prepared for the drawbacks it will bring? Balance these and try to manage the largest population for the longest time.

1989

After seeing the exponential growth in climate change-related issues, humans have started exploring the idea of finding another earth. However, once we find another habitable planet somewhere in the universe, we have to make sure that we don't repeat the same mistakes that caused us to migrate in the first place. With this, the governing body spearheading this idea has commissioned Jethropogi Corporation to provide a risk-free environment to simulate this.

(this is purely imaginary, but it can come true in the near future if we don't do anything about it)

You are playing

SUSTAINABILITY SIMULATOR

A game used to imitate the experience of trying to manage a group of people. You have to balance three aspects in order to succeed:

ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, ECONOMICAL

All of these will contribute to a SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT for you and the other people on the planet. The player is given a first-hand experience weighing out the pros and cons of each action. These skills can be applied in real life by influencing them to do what is for the greater good of others and the environment.

THE BIG QUESTION:

WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY?

Sustainability consists of fulfilling the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being.
